8 months old and so much happening

Allison has turned 8 months old and is doing great. Last doctor check up she was at 12 5.7 oz and  23.7 inches long. This is key because they said she is in the 15-20th percentile in length to weight ratio and they said we don't have to come back for another 2 months for a checkup. Let's give you the teddy pics then fill you in on what we have been doing after.

So what has been happening this last month? Not a lot of pictures to show but Allison went to her cousin Natalie's 4th birthday party at the Super Jump Party Zone. But she kept her feet on the ground. A couple weeks ago, Eddie took off for the weekend to go to Vancouver for a bachelor party. Without too many details I can see he had a fun time white water rafting and is really into Korean BBQ now. Just this last weekend was a real adventure though. Eddie and Chrissy took Allison to her first Husky game. It was a little shaky the first half after a long day and she was getting sleepy. Her headphones made it tough to lay her head on mommy and sleep. But eventually she nodded off while the Huskies finished off San Diego State. Not sure how many more games she will get to this year. She might spend some extra time with mammy and boppy (Eddie's parents...ask Auntie AJ about the names)

Chrissy just started going back to work full time this week and Allison has been spending days at her nanny's, our good friend Cindy Perry, who is taking her when the grandmas are not. There was also one more big adventure recently. Our doctors wanted Allison to start in on solid foods. At least as solid as sweet potatoes from Gerber is. Anyway, according to the most up to date thinking, after the last 10 years of keeping kids away from the highly allergenic foods like wheat and peanuts what they have seen is an INCREASE in food allergies. So now they want to start kids on those foods as soon as possible (thinking they will build a tolerance at an early age while they are adapting and growing). So Allison got her first taste of solid foods...

Speaking of Gerber, we submitted Allison in the Gerber Generation Photo Search 2012. If you have a Facebook account you can vote for her everyday for the next 3 weeks to help her win a college scholarship.  Eddie and Chrissy would love for your support...and just look at that face
